Gary Oster is a successful executive with over five decades of business experience. He founded Topline Growth Partners (TGP) and serves as its Chief Growth Strategist. TGP is a results-oriented consultancy that designs strategic, customized programs that drives growth, effectiveness, efficiency and higher performance.
For over 13 years, Oster served as both executive vice president of member services and managing director of Project: Time Off for the U.S. Travel Association. He led U.S. Travel’s member service functions including overseeing strategic partnerships, business development, marketing, meetings and events. Through his leadership and during his tenure, the association grew threefold. Oster also launched and managed Project: Time Off, a multi-year, research-driven, national awareness campaign that promoted the benefit of taking time off and how it delivers personal, business, social, and economic value.
Prior to joining U.S. Travel in 2005, Mr. Oster worked for Avendra, a company specializing in professional procurement for the hospitality industry, as Vice President: Independent Hotels, Resorts and Casinos.
A successful hotel industry professional, Oster started his 37+ year career as a groundskeeper at BWI Airport Hotel. Oster spent more than two decades with Marriott International working as Vice President of Owner Relations and Vice President of Sales. During his tenure with Renaissance, he worked as Vice President of Sales for the America’s, General Manager at the Renaissance Harborplace Hotel and served as Director of Marketing at the Renaissance Mayflower and Westchester Hotels. He joined the company in 1982 as Director of National Sales.
During his hotel career, Oster received recognition as Hotelier of the Year from the Maryland Hotel and Motel Association, the Mayor’s Outstanding Citizen Award for the City of Baltimore, Hospitality Professional of the Year by the Academy of Travel & Tourism and the President’s Award from the University of Baltimore.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English literature from the University of Baltimore. A passionate sport fisherman, Oster lives in Sewall’s Point, Florida with his wife Lisa.
